Questions.

How is this different from a shared Google Calendar?

A shared Google Calendar only works when somebody opens it. Lodestead is built to be looked at without being opened: a spare tablet on the kitchen wall shows the household's week all day, so the bill due Thursday and the concert on the 12th sit in front of everyone whether or not anyone thought to check. It also holds what a calendar has no field for — chores with an owner, the week's meals, a shopping list that syncs live, and bills with amounts and due dates.

Do I need to buy a special screen?

No. Lodestead runs on the phones and tablets you already own, and there is no Lodestead hardware to buy. Any spare tablet — propped on a shelf or mounted on the wall — becomes the family display, which is the difference between spending £6 a month and spending £300 on a dedicated device.

What tablet works for Wall Mode?

Any tablet with an up-to-date browser: an old iPad, a Fire tablet, an Android tablet. Open lodestead.com/wall on it, then type the six-character pairing code it shows into your own phone. A 10-inch screen or larger is easiest to read across a kitchen. Leave it on the charger — it stays on all day and dims itself overnight.

Can the kids have their own logins?

They do not need one. A single household account covers everyone, and children are family members rather than accounts: each has a name, a colour and a finish of their own, and can tick their own chores off on the wall display without an email address or a password. Only adults can change settings or billing.

Will it remind me about bin days?

Yes. Add the collection as a repeating entry — blue bin every other Friday, black bin on the weeks in between — and it appears on the wall display on the morning it is due, alongside everything else happening that day. You set it once and it comes back on its own.

What happens to our data if we cancel?

Nothing is deleted. If a subscription ends the household becomes read-only: you keep seeing every entry, chore, meal and list you added, you just cannot add more until you subscribe again. You can export the lot or delete the whole household yourself at any time, and Lodestead does not sell household data or run advertising trackers.

What happens when the 14 days are up?

Nothing disappears. If you have not subscribed the household becomes read-only, so everything already in it stays visible and only adding stops. Cancel from Billing inside the app at any time, with no cancellation fee; access runs to the end of the period you have paid for.
